In September, we visited a conference on Science and Technology Studies (STS). On Thursday, September 18th, Sören Meyer and Andreas Kramm presented our methodological approach and the tools we developed on the biennial EASST (European Association for the Study of Science and Technology) conference in Torun, Poland. In the panel “The development of digital tools in STS and digital humanities: Watching, muddling through and reflexivity”, Sören and Andreas explained how ROSE and Ivy collect and visualize data about Facebook users’ practices and how we applied both tools in our empirical studies. Under the title „Situated Solidarities“ the EASST community provided an outstanding platform to discuss our methodology especially with STS scholars. They got a lot of positive feedback.
