During the poster sessions, several conference participants visited our poster stand and asked how they could use our research tool for their own work. Interestingly, we received several questions on whether Facebook would (or could) interfere with our observation software. However, this is not an issue as ROSE is designed as a browser plugin not relying on any API provided by Facebook. Interestingly, this design decision was driven by our desire to protect participants privacy during the whole research process, but of course also allows research more independent of Facebook.
For conference attendees we suggest the following links:
- CSCW ’14 poster, so no need to look at noisy photos from your mobile
- CSCW ’14 extended abstract for additional information
- ROSE Github project, and last but not least
- current ROSE release in case you want to try it out
We plan to translate our ROSE manual into English and are open for any further feedback on our work.
